We are proud to announce that the official opening of South Poland Terminal Zabrze took place today, a state-of-the-art intermodal terminal developed by CLIP Group on the former industrial site of the Makoszowy coal mine.

The official opening ceremony was conducted by Mr Wojciech Staniszewski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CLIP Group; Ms Agnieszka Hipś, President of the Management Board of CLIP Group; Mr Kamil Żbikowski, Mayor of the City of Zabrze; Mr Jarosław Siergiej, President of the Management Board of the Szczecin and Świnoujście Seaports Authority; and Mr Sławomir Piątek, President of the Management Board of Torkol. This investment represents an important milestone in the development of Poland’s transport infrastructure and a further step towards building modern, resilient supply chains.

The new terminal has been designed to ensure seamless integration of rail and road transport. The infrastructure includes modern handling yards, an extensive rail track system, supporting facilities, and advanced solutions for managing logistics operations. As a result, the terminal will enhance the efficiency and capacity of freight transport while supporting the continued growth of intermodal transport in Poland.

The project strengthens the capabilities of Poland’s logistics network, improves the competitiveness of rail freight transport, and supports the country’s integration into key European transport corridors. The terminal will play a vital role in facilitating both domestic and international cargo flows, contributing to the economic development of the region and the country as a whole.

The project was delivered with financial support from the European Union under the NextGenerationEU programme. The funding amounted to nearly PLN 72.5 million, underlining the strategic importance of the investment for the development of transport infrastructure and the economic resilience of Europe.

South Poland Terminal Zabrze is an investment that combines modern logistics, sustainable transport, and long-term economic growth, establishing a new benchmark for intermodality in Central Europe.
