New CLIP Intermodal Terminal in Małaszewicze – infrastructure of strategic importance for Poland and Europe. Agreement signed with TorKol.
13 August 2025
Container Terminal Mala, a company within the CLIP Group, has signed an agreement with the renowned infrastructure firm TorKol, based in Tychy, for the development of a state-of-the-art intermodal terminal in Małaszewicze – one of the most significant logistics investments in recent years in Central and Eastern Europe.
The project will be delivered under a “design and build” model as part of a comprehensive initiative titled “Construction of an intermodal terminal at the EU border within the Free Customs Zone in Małaszewicze.”
The terminal is being developed at one of the most critical points in Europe’s infrastructure – at the intersection of the EU customs union and the Eurasian transport corridors. It is here that the economic interests of East and West converge, offering Poland – as a frontline EU member state – a genuine opportunity to serve as the continent’s gateway for freight.
CLIP Group’s new investment in Małaszewicze is a bold response to the challenges of contemporary geopolitics and the growing importance of supply chains based on intermodal transport.
The terminal has been designed to handle two major transit flows – from China to Europe and from Europe to China – and will facilitate both rail-road and rail-rail transshipments, including between broad gauge (1520 mm) and standard gauge (1435 mm) tracks. The scope of the investment includes the construction of a new track layout, modernisation of arrival and departure tracks, development of yards and roads with full technical infrastructure, as well as equipping the terminal with advanced handling equipment and next-generation IT systems.
The project will be executed by TorKol, one of Poland’s most experienced infrastructure companies, specialising in the construction and modernisation of railway lines and logistics facilities. As the main contractor, TorKol will be responsible for the comprehensive delivery of the investment under the “design and build” model, ensuring full coordination, high quality, and timely completion of works.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by June 2026.
The agreement was signed by Agnieszka Hipś, President of Container Terminal Mala and CLIP Logistics, and Sławomir Piątek, CEO of TorKol.
“This is a strategically important investment not only for CLIP Group but also for Poland as a whole. The terminal in Małaszewicze will become one of the key links in the European Union’s transport infrastructure and will strengthen our position as a provider of modern intermodal logistics,” said Agnieszka Hipś.
“We are working with TorKol as a trusted and proven partner, bringing experience, professionalism, and the capability to deliver complex infrastructure projects. Together, we are laying the foundation for the future of Polish logistics on an international scale.”
The construction of the terminal in Małaszewicze is not merely an engineering endeavour – it marks a new chapter in the development of Poland’s logistics infrastructure. This investment will increase rail transport capacity along the East–West corridor, create new jobs, stimulate regional economic growth, and reinforce Poland’s position as a strategic hub on Europe’s transport map.
CLIP Group, as a leader in modern intermodal solutions, once again demonstrates that Polish logistics expertise can shape the future of European transport – with ambition, responsibility, and a vision that looks beyond the horizon.
