The world’s most modern reachstackers at the CLIP Intermodal Terminal in Swarzędz
25 September 2020
The CLIP Intermodal Terminal has been enriched with two new, ecological reachstackers for reloading of containers and road trailers. These are the only ECO Efficient series Kalmar cranes in Poland and the most modern in the world.
They are equipped with a specialized drive system reducing fuel consumption by 30-40% compared to the classic drive with a large 11-liter diesel engine and a torque converter. The modern Kalmar ECO is based on a smaller 7.7-liter Volvo Penta engine and an automatic CVT transmission for higher speeds and a hydrostatic drive for lower speeds.
ECO series Reachstackers, in addition to reducing fuel consumption, also reduce the level of harmful exhaust emissions into the atmosphere and significantly reduce the level of noise emissions.
The purchase of new reachstackers was carried out by Centrum Logistyczno Inwestycyjne Poznań 2 as part of the project entitled “Expansion of the intermodal container terminal in Jasin near Poznań” co-financed by the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Program Infrastructure and Environment 2014-2020 Priority III. Development of the TEN-T road network and multimodal transport Measure 3.2 – Development of maritime transport, inland waterways and multimodal connections.
