CLIP Intermodal expands fleet of wagons

CLIP Intermodal expands fleet of wagons

Clip Intermodal received the first part of T3000e doublepocket wagons (see Wagon Card). The first 16 of the ordered 92 wagons arrived to Swarzędz.     The wagons will be included in existing intermodal connections of which Clip Intermodal is the operator – to Duisburg, Luxembourg, to existing domestic connections as well as to planned new connections with southern Europe (see connections).     Thanks to doublepocket wagons, it is possible to transport intermodal road semi-trailers, which will significantly reduce the number of trucks on the road and reduce CO2 emissions. This is how we implement the slogan “trucks on tracks”. We estimate, that in the case of the connection with Luxembourg, we will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 20.000 tonnes yearly.   Marcin Żurowski, Director of the CLIP Intermodal Terminal: Doublepocket wagons will complement the existing Clip Intermodal wagon fleet. Currently, we have 180 pcs. of 80″, as well as 60 pcs. of 90″ intermodal wagons. The introduction of doublepocket wagons allows for full optimization of wagons on individual connections and adapting to customer requirements. As a result, we get a very economically effective ecological product that is a response to the growing requirements of the intermodal transport market. I have to mention that purchase of pocket wagons is part of the project to expand the entire CLIP Logistics Center in Swarzędz with a very modern infrastructure for transhipping intermodal units. As part of this project, 3 RMG cranes with a span of 100 m and 2 RTG cranes will be purchased. The railway infrastructure will also be expanded with further tracks for transhipping trains, a new...
First innovative intermodal train Poland – Luxembourg

First innovative intermodal train Poland – Luxembourg

As announced during the Transport Logistic fair in June 2019, CLIP and CFL multimodal successfully completed their partnership project and expand their respective service offering with the launch of a rail motorway train between Bettembourg-Dudelange and Poznan-Swarzędz. The first train left the Intermodal Terminal of Bettembourg-Dudelange today. It will run with 4 roundtrips per week and will be open to containers, craneable semi-trailers as well as non-craneable semi-trailers. It allows to efficiently connect Poland to Luxembourg and the Benelux as well as France and Spain, using the existing intermodal connections from Bettembourg-Dudelange to Lyon, Le Boulou and Barcelona.   Mr Fraenz Benoy, Managing director of CFL multimodal: The expansion of our intermodal service offering to Central Europe will give both of us the opportunity to address the non-craneable trailers market. This new train can transport up to 15 000 semi-trailers per year. This is equivalent to 20 000t of CO2 savings, which clearly reflects our willingness to provide sustainable environmental-friendly services. Mrs Agnieszka Hipś, CEO CLIP Group S.A.: CLIP Intermodal as an expert in Poland in intermodal services can promote this solution and provide a unique opportunity  to all polish road hauliers to go to intermodal. With further connection from Luxembourg to Spain we have possibility to create one of the longest rail connection in Europe with the shortest transit time. Train will start with frequency of 4 times per week, but we want to increase it to 6 times per week in short future. Transit time from CLIP to Bettembourg will be around 23 hours. The rail traction is provided by CFL cargo, in cooperation with Ecco Rail in Poland....
